Passing the torch to Kamala Harris

Today, we thank President Joe Biden. He took on Donald Trump for the soul of our country and won. He brought us back from the darkness of January 6th with empathy and strength. He led us out of the pandemic recession, with stronger job recovery and lower inflation than any peer country. Historians will document his role in protecting our democracy, to say nothing of his accomplishments before his time in the White House.

We also salute President Biden’s decision to focus on the remainder of his term. His courage, selflessness and grace reflects leadership qualities we should all aspire to.

As a California delegate to the upcoming Democratic National Convention in Chicago, I’m thrilled he has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as his successor, and am incredibly excited to support her.

26 years ago, I first met our future Vice President. As a new assistant DA, I was told to watch the closing argument of a seasoned prosecutor named Kamala – and was in awe. As I got to know her, I saw up close her brilliance, her fierce sense of justice, and her compassion, which is why I chaired Asians for Kamala during her first race for San Francisco District Attorney. As she has served as California Attorney General, U.S. Senator and Vice President, the rest of the country has gotten to witness her passion for public service, her vision for our future, and her commitment to bringing people together.

I’m proud to endorse Kamala Harris for President. With the threat that Donald Trump and his allies represent to our country and our world, we have no time to waste. I hope you’ll join me by endorsing Kamala as well.

Sincerely,

David
