Gung Hay Fat Choy! Happy Lunar New Year!

Candace, Lucas, and I wish you good health, prosperity, and happiness during this Year of the Tiger! (And yes, we took the picture during a pre-COVID moment.)

Gung Hay Fat Choy! Happy Lunar New Year!

The tiger is a symbol of courage, power, and fierceness, all important attributes to remember as we continue to advocate for justice and opportunity for everyone.

San Franciscans have embodied the tiger’s qualities these past two years: the courage to persevere in the face of incredibly difficult times; the power to fight pandemic, recession and hate; the fierceness to protect our families and our broader community.

It’s great to see the return of events to celebrate Lunar New Year. I look forward to riding in the Chinese New Year Parade again in San Francisco on February 19th––the first time the parade has been held in two years. I hope during these times, you’ll be able to gather safely with your loved ones and celebrate together.

We have much to be thankful for in 2022: vaccines and booster shots, the return of community gatherings, and most importantly, the health and safety of our loved ones.

Gung hay fat choy! 恭喜發財! 新年快樂!
